The length of time does a typical divorce take?

Georgia law permits a divorce case to be finalized 31 days after the defendant has been served with paperwork. We can get a settlement agreement sent earlier than that, but the judge is mandated to wait up until the 31st day after service has been perfected on the defendant to settle the documents.

A case may take anywhere from 2 to 6 months if a final hearing in front of a judge is not needed but a number of issues need to be fixed.
