How long does a normal divorce take?

Georgia law allows a divorce case to be settled 31 days after the defendant has been served with required paperwork. We can get a settlement agreement sent earlier than that, but the judge is mandated to wait up until the 31st day after service has been perfected on the defendant to complete the paperwork.

A case may take anywhere from 2 to 6 months if a hearing in front of a judge is not required however a number of concerns need to be dealt with.
